Technical Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

  • Controls experience using: Rockwell Automation products /Allen Bradley and/or GE (an asset)
  • PLC / SCADA / HMI programming
  • Control networks
  • Robotics
  • Safety Systems
  • Vision Systems
  • Servo Systems
  • Electrical design with AutoCAD / E3 Wireworks
  • Electrical code knowledge
  • Knowledge and application of best controls design practices, standards and codes
  • Project start-up and commissioning
  • Project lead/project management experience
  • Advanced level knowledge of Microsoft Office programs

This position would be suited for someone with 7 – 10+ years of relevant work experience.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Designs, plans and coordinates application systems and programming work teams
  • Provides technical support to project team members
  • Handles complex application features and technical designs
  • Designs and implements the components required for complex application features
  • Provides support to the Controls Manager in project planning and scheduling, cost estimating and monitoring, and quality review
  • External client communication and support

Educational Background:

  • Engineering or Technologist Graduate

Additional Information:

  • Flexible work hours with the occasional “on-call” status is required
  • Travel is required throughout Eastern Ontario and on occasion to other parts of North America including entry into the USA

  • French and other languages are assets
